In Memory of
Wolfgang Reinehr
Racing was my fathers passion.  In general he was an enthusiast and loved to  work on Motorcycles if it was an old machine or a racing machine it didn't  matter . If you wanted to be with him you was up to end up in his garage ready to get greasy and to be put to work.
To this day I 'am trying to get my brain around how much knowledge was within himself about all makes and types of motorcycles.  As time passes we are just starting to get a grip on how much of a loss his knowledge is to the motorcycle community, especially in and around Bremerhaven.
One of his biggest loves was his 50cc Kreidler, that was his baby. Lot's of sweat went into her
With not a lot of money on hand and no mature sponsors , he did manage to give some of the well known manufacturer racers a run for their money.  Who was Wolfgang Reinehr to come along out of no where to be able to race and have a machine that could perform and hold his own against the best that money could  buy?
Well, money was always a concern but not until the early  80' did it come to full term. Having had a very suggsestful racing year  my father had no choice but to stop. He had collectet to many champion points  and the choices were limited it was to stop racing the 50cc class or to move up to national racing leaague. With no major sponsors there is no way for an average person to be able to affort it.  So he was forced to quiet racing his beloved Kreidler.
So with warmth I remember our days on the race tracks and sure do miss those times. It was a lot of fun and a lot of laughters we had.
My father continued being a big part of the racing community, he worked behind the scence repairing and putting motors back together for other race drivers. Also continued on racing if it was Oldtimer races or his last adventure a 250cc Aprilia , that he manged to fine tune and had her just there were she was starting to run smoothly. He did participate in the 2007 Fischereihafen Rennen, Bremerhaven.
1970 Hockenheim
1983 Fischereihafen Bremerhaven
As one can see troughout the years my father kept the same  pre-race routine. 20 minute nap prior to race start the calm before the storm. I always admired him for that. To turn out everything and anything around him to  relax and prepare .
.......and winning was part of it all , too
Christmas get together with friends. My father in the middle and of course his beloved Kreidler in a corner of our living room taking part.  Winter 1982.
